With a very early flight out of Faro, I thought it best to stay next to the airport the night before.
Getting from Quarteira to Faro airport was about 25 minutes, and I thought taking an Uber would be the most affordable and easy option. In the end I think it cost the same as a taxi – EUR23.81.
The check in was smooth, and the host’s cat was very welcoming. He clearly had no concept of personal space…
I was offered a ride by the lovely host to the Old Town of Faro in the afternoon, and I was so glad I accepted.
Faro Old Town
There is a sweet little marina next to the Old Town with some great sculptures on the edge.
And sadly, is this cute little tourist train… Not really necessary in such a small, traditional town.
Picture perfect.
Plenty of cafes and eateries.
So much to see in Faro, especially if you like attractions and museums.
Blue tile traditional street art stories. So much history in this area.
One of the many Old Town gates.
So many cute little cafe and tapas bars.
That serve the most amazing local herbal tea.
And have the cutest, curious visitors.
Another Old Town gate.
Igreja da Sé
The Cathedral of Faro is a Roman Catholic cathedral in Faro, Portugal. The cathedral was consecrated in the name of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the late 13th century by the Archbishop of Braga
Another Old Town arch.

Public Bus in Faro
Getting the bus back from the main bus station was very fast and easy.
And then made it back to the airbnb while the sun was setting.
