With just a little curiosity it was easy to find out a lot about Edinburgh’s Rose Street, without opening Google once.
The street is beautiful, and well-maintained and a fascinating journey.
If you are paying attention, the street is artistically stunning to walk on.
Scotts of Rose Street
Famous for a few reasons. Orsen Wells had a drink here in 1958, and Dan Brown wrote the final chapter of The Davinci Code while having a drink here.
Love the sense of humour in Scotland.
New Shoes – No Blues
I was delighted to discover shoe shops offering high quality shoes on Rose Street.
You may have seen my post on Shoes for Carry-On luggage.
Well, after my stint in the Highlands, I realised my Mephistos, after 3 years of full-on wear, might also need replacing.
They did stock some Mephistos, but they weren’t as nice or comfortable as the previous models, so instead I opted for a awesome pair of Rieker walking shoes.
Breathable, light and sooooo comfortable.
Putting my worn-out Mephistos was still difficult to do though.
Time to Go
The nearest train station was Haymarket, so didn’t have to go into the main train station.
Love ya Edinburgh. See you next time.
