London can be expensive, but if you are on a budget, it can also be amazing.
First things first, get an Oyster card, and take the tube and buses everywhere. Short tube trips in central zone 1 are only GBP2.40 and all buses are GBP1.50 a ride. Just remember to tap on and tap off!
Parks in London
Great for taking a rest, and perfect in Summer! You can grab some great salads, fruit or sandwiches from M&S or Tesco.
Green Park
Bloomsbury Square Garden
Buckingham Palace
A trip to London would not be complete without a visit to the Queen. i.e. Buckingham Palace. It’s beautiful and there always seems to be something going on.
Trafalgar Square
Definitely on the must-see list…
Coffee in London
Set your quality expectations low, and never, ever get coffee from Pret a Manger. But grabbing a coffee and people-watching is a fantastic budget activity in London.
The British Museum
This could be my most favourite museum in the world. So stunning and so much to see.
Also as I have previously mentioned, don’t forget about:
- London Bridge, The Tower of London, Tower Bridge, Big Ben, Piccadilly Circus
- Notting Hill/ Portobello Road Market
